Librarians, you look fabulous!

Here at the Library Land Project, we love all things libraries - and all things fashion! So, when we received an invitation to attend the Dazzling at the Library, Second Annual Fashion Show at the Woburn Public Library, we knew this was an event not to be missed. This show featured the work of Luna Joachim, a Woburn-based designer. Her designs are a love letter to 1950s-inspired fashion for the modern woman. The event was emceed by BossLadyNews and her charm kept the audience engaged in between scenes.

Joachim recently expanded her collection to include scarves to show how an accessory can elevate any look, no matter how simple. She proves that with the first part of the show. The models wore simple outfits of black or white tops, jeans, and a scarf tied in various ways. With one look, a scarf is tied like a cape, allowing the draping fabric to give a sense of movement. Another outfit, the scarf is tied to the belt, an accessory to the accessory. One could even use a belt to tie a scarf like a jacket, making it functional, as well as fashionable. In any way the scarf was utilized, it provided a striking pop of color against the neutral outfit. Joachim was certainly successful in showing the audience how an otherwise “plain” look can be transformed!

The second part of the show was certainly the highlight for us! Not only did we see stunning ensembles, but we got to see Woburn Public Library staff members take a turn on the catwalk! We have a Library Land Looks campaign every Friday on our social media platforms, where we showcase the fashion worn by library workers. So, we were ecstatic to see the outfits worn by these folks. These outfits were gorgeous. The hats and gloves especially created a sense of elegant poise. These library workers walked with such fun confidence. They truly looked like they belonged on that catwalk. Even the library director herself, Hermayne Gordon, joined in on the fun.

There was one last scene before the show ended. The audience got to enjoy additional looks of bold colors, eye-catching fascinators, and striking texture combinations. One model wore a pair of sky-high stilettos, and it was astounding to see that model walk with such enviable ease. The show ended with BossLadyNews encouraging the audience to go home and have fun with their wardrobes. We were certainly inspired to go digging through our own closets to find items we weren’t confident enough to wear before. Creative self-expression with fashion is within anyone’s reach! Overall, the final moments of the show left a lasting impression, celebrating confidence, creativity, and fearless style. We left feeling motivated to rewrite our fashion rules and wear every piece with intention and flair.
