Introducing Library Land Conversations!
Today, we’re excited to introduce an exciting new Library Land Project feature: Library Land Conversations. These are interviews with folks from around the library world about what they’re seeing and thinking about. You can find them here on our website, on Facebook or better yet, subscribe to our new YouTube channel.
Having these kinds of conversations has always been one of our favorite things to do when we visit a library. The pandemic has curtailed our travels, but it hasn’t decreased our love of libraries or a good conversation.
Our premier episode features the awesome Vermont-based librarian and rural technologist, Jessamyn West. In it, she talks about her experiences of librarianship during COVID, the importance (and challenges) of promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in public libraries, shares a few of her favorite library memories, and even mentions 7th Inning Stretch, a weekly Facebook Live program of organ music and comedy that airs every Monday at 3 p.m. ET
Future episodes will feature conversations with library workers, fundraisers, architects, policy-makers, patrons, and others. If you have suggestions for potential guests - or would like to be a guest yourself - write to us at info@librarylandproject.org. In the meantime, stay tuned … we’ll be releasing these every couple of weeks or so :)
