Library Land Project
Hello World, and Welcome to the Library Land Project!
The Library Land Project is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to explore, document, and promote the essential role of public libraries in our communities.
Library Land started because we saw that people didn’t understand what libraries are all about, the services they provide, the impact they have. That’s a challenge. The rise of anti-library sentiment and stories has made this challenge even more pressing. Library Land is committed to providing a voice and platform to counter this narrative. Whether through our own content, or from the library community, we will continue to promote the work of these critical resources.
Library Land supports the library community and encourages people to understand and support the special role public libraries play. Read stories and reviews of libraries we’ve visited, hear what we’ve seen and learned, keep track of our travels on our map of Library Land, scan the latest news, learn about our services, find out more about our team and board, support our efforts, and like/follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
Since late 2018, the Library Land Project has visited more than 450 libraries in Alabama, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia - as well as in Barcelona. Every one of these visits has added to our understanding and appreciation of public libraries.
We’d love to hear about your favorite library. You can also contact us at info@librarylandproject.org to let us know what you think.
